Debbie Peterson announces candidacy for House of Representatives, 49th District, Position 1
Vancouver, Washington.
Since 2004, Debbie has been an advocate for taxpayers. Her most recent intervention was last December 2011, at the Clark County Commissioners' Meeting, where she, alone, gave public comment requesting that the proposed 1% Countywide general fund property tax increase be denied. All three County Commissioners supported her request and did not approve the tax increase.
Currently, Debbie is a member of the Better Bridge Coalition. This group has met with both Oregon and Washington lawmakers, working on retaining the existing I-5 Bridge and establishing a third, economical bridge, across the Columbia River.
Debbie says, It is a privilege to work for the taxpayers of Clark County. I am enthusiastically looking forward to working for the taxpayers in my own district, in Olympia.
