NOVEMBER 6, 2012 GENERAL ELECTION - VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE
The last day for submitting a mail-in voter registration form for the November 6, 2012 General and Special Election is Saturday, October 6, 2012.
Mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by October 6 or before. The U.S. Post Office will be closed Monday, October 8 so no mail will be postmarked that day.
Online registration applications can be submitted up to 12:00 midnight on Monday, October 8. Visit the Elections Office website at www.clarkvotes.org and click the Online Voter Registration button to register online electronically.
If done online, a change of address by currently registered voters must also be submitted before 12:00 midnight Monday, October 8 in order to apply to the November 6, 2012 General Election.
Address changes made by mail must be postmarked by Saturday, October 6. The Clark County Elections Department will be open to 5:00 PM, Monday, October 8 to accept address changes made by telephone or in person.
Citizens who are not currently registered to vote anywhere in the state of Washington have an additional time period, running through Monday, October 29, 2012 to register by appearing in person at the County Elections Department, 1408 Franklin Street, Vancouver.

Some added information:
Two weekends left before the deadline for voter registration updates for citizens such as address changes, name changes, etc.
US Citizens who will be 18 years old on or before Nov. 6 can register to vote.
Many citizens have never registered to vote. Those with old addresses on file and won't get a mailed ballot if they fail to update the address.

Monday October 8 is a federal holiday, but the Clark County elections office will be open to accept voter registration forms.
Due to the holiday, mail in voter registration forms are recommended to be postmarked by and including Saturday Oct. 6.
Most post offices and outlets are closed on Sundays and holidays, except the Portland, OR Airport post office.
To insure a postmark on the same day , mail can be taken to a post office , and buy metered postage, Not a stamp.
